Adapco Forte Gel (Adapalene Gel USP): Effective Acne Treatment with Adapalene
Composition and Description
Adapco Forte Gel is a powerful solution for treating acne, containing Adapalene as its active ingredient. Each gram of this gel contains Adapalene BP (Adapalene Gel USP) at a concentration of 0.3% w/w. Adapalene is a naphthoic acid derivative with retinoid like properties, making it a potent tool against acne. The molecular formula is C28H28O3, with a molecular weight of 412.53
Mechanism of Action
Adapalene acts on various biological processes relevant to the development of acne vulgaris. While its exact mode of action isn’t fully
understood, it’s believed to normalize cellular differentiation, keratinization, and inflammation of follicular epithelial cells. This
normalization process leads to reduced microcomedone formation, a key factor in acne development. Adapalene binds to specific retinoic acid nuclear receptors, modulating cellular processes without binding to cytosolic receptors
Indications
Adapco forte Gel is indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris in patients aged 12 years and older. It is effective against
various manifestations of acne, including:
- Eczema (atopic, infantile, and discoid eczemas)
